Frequently Asked Questions
My face becomes red and hot after using your Rejuvenating Face Mask, should I be concerned?
This is due to an increase in microcirculation. The mask is designed to stimulate circulation as this enhances cellular nourishment & detoxification. As your skin adjusts to a nutrient-rich diet these sensations (heat, redness or “blushing” and tingling) should diminish, while you will continue to enjoy the benefits to your skin. We recommend using the mask at night as it will give skin time to settle and you will wake up with a radiant glow. If irritation occurs please discontinue use.
What are the benefits of microcirculation?
Enhanced microcirculation prevents and reverses the visible signs of premature aging. It beautifies the skin in two ways: increasing nourishment of skin cells as well as speeding the detoxification of the cells.
Which products enhance microcirculation?
Buttermilk cleanser, Balancing Rose Toner, Rejuvenating Face Cream, Rasayana Rejuvenating Serum, Rejuvenating Eye Cream, Rejuvenating Face Mask & Detox Face Mask.
How do your products stimulate microcirculation?
We use organically-sourced vitamins and herbal nutrients combined with a patented nutrient delivery system to stimulate the microcirculatory structures in the skin.
Why don’t you use alcohol?
Alcohol disturbs the skin’s natural acid mantle – leading to accelerated trans-epidermal water loss – resulting in dull, dry skin. Alcohol also stimulates melanocytes which can lead to hyperpigmentation and increased age spots. A recent study suggests that a large number of individuals with multiple chemical sensitivity are actually allergic to alcohol, which compromises the skin’s integrity and exposes the deeper layers of the skin to environmental toxins.
Are your ingredients vegetarian?
Yes, all ingredients are vegetarian. Our entire product range is approved by The Vegetarian Society. We never test on animals and don’t purchase from suppliers who have conducted animal testing since 1975.
What are the exfoliating ingredients in the Buttermilk cleanser?
Lactic acid extracted from Buttermilk. It is a very mild acid that stimulates exfoliation. There are no abrasive particles in Buttermilk Cleanser.
What is potassium sorbate? And why do you use it?
Potassium sorbate is derived from sorbic acid, extracted from organic bananas. It is a preservative commonly used in the organic food industry. It is anti-fungal in nature. We use it as part of our preservative system.
What is the difference between Witch Hazel and Alcohol?
Witch hazel is an aqueous (water) extract from the Hamamalis virginiana plant; it is a pure plant extract that is free of any alcohol. Because Witch Hazel it an astringent in nature, it will cause closure of pores, contraction of blood vessels to decrease redness and is also anti-inflammatory due to it being cooling. Its astringent nature makes it mildly antibacterial as well. However Witch Hazel is not capable of causing dehydration as it does not leach water out of the cells (it is a water based extract). However alcohol has the potential to leach water out of cells, it is the very nature of alcohol (even the positive emotions/sensations associated with alcohol are due to this very reason).”
I have heard citrus oils are a known irritant (causing photo-sensitivity)?

If someone who was using Organic Apoteke regularly stopped, how long would it take to show wrinkles coming back? Would this also be the same for age spots and sun spots or would they stay away?
This is difficult to answer as it varies with people and the condition of their skin, the environment they live in etc. We cannot guarantee long term effects with the products, but can assure people that for as long as they use products they will see results.

Is it safe to use your products during pregnancy?
Yes, our products are safe to use during pregnancy, however we do suggest using our Rasayana Rejuvenating Serum in smaller quantities during pregnancy (as it is high in Vitamin A). We suggest using only one drop per day in your moisturiser. In the event that you are using other vitamin A products we suggest you avoid it for the duration of pregnancy. Be sure to add Body Hydrate Oil in Sicilian Orange & Mandarin to your cart it is favorite amongst pregnant customers. Great for stretch marks and so cheering and refreshing.
On the ingredients pages on your website you list the organic and natural percentages I thought the natural percentages would be 100% but they are around 98%. Please explain.
Our products are 100% natural by our own very strict standards. We do however use two ingredients (potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate) sourced from organically grown fruit that are not technically certified yet. Due to the fact that our source for these ingredients is innovative and unusual, Ecocert does not currently have a way of certifying them. All of our ingredients are from natural botanical or mineral sources.
