Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest medical systems
with its origins in ancient India.
It is a holistic approach to physical and mental health. Ayurveda combines natural remedies (mainly derived from plants, but may also include metals and minerals), diet, exercise, therapeutic massage and lifestyle changes.
Yoga is the sister science of Ayurveda. The main aim of Ayurveda is to bring balance to the body & mind.

The aim of Ayurveda is to help your body
overcome stress by recreating inner balance.

According to Ayurveda – every person is made of five basic elements which are also found in the universe. These elements are space, air, fire, water, and earth.
These elements combine in the human body to form three body types, called doshas. These dosha’s control how your body works.
They 3 dosha’s are Vata (space & air); Pitta (fire & water) and Kapha (water & earth).
Everyone inherits a unique mix of the three doshas. It’s believed that your chances of staying well or getting sick is linked to the balance of your doshas. Therefore Ayurveda aims to help you understand your dosha or body type.
Traditionally pulse diagnosis and expert observation was used to determine how well your body is functioning. However, we have designed a simple quiz to help you understand your body type. And based on this Body Type Quiz – Ayurvedic diet plans, lifestyle and product recommendations are provided. If you are taking any medicines or unsure about these recommendations – please contact your doctor. To understand your body type and receive your personalised Ayurvedic Plan.

Nitasha’s grandmother was trained traditionally in Ayurveda.
She functioned as both Ayurvedic healer and Priestess. Nitasha recalls, “I used to pick herbs for her to ‘cook’ into remedies.
She got results and word spread – people adored her for her ability to heal. And she inspired me to follow in this healing tradition”.
While Nitasha had strong connections to her grandmother’s traditional, deeply spiritual knowledge, she followed a more scientific path. She craved being on the cutting edge of science so got involved in medical research.
While completing post-grad studies in human physiology, Nitasha became fascinated by her grandmother’s remedies. Grandmothers knowledge about them was extensive got results. But the scientist granddaughter wanted to discover why these remedies worked. She changed her focus to skin physiology – looking for ways of getting grandmothers wonderful ayurvedic medicines to penetrate to the deepest layers of the skin.
This led to creating natural formula’s that honoured ancient Ayurvedic & Yogic principals but were tested under the rigours of modern science. This combination makes Organic Apoteke products both effective and pure.
