Low Estrogren & Your Face

Low Estrogen Affects Your Skin & Your Face Tone.

A decrease in estrogen can have the following effects on the skin:

Dry Skin:

As estrogen levels decline, your skin becomes dryer. Estrogen helps maintain moisture in the skin by increasing the amount of hyaluronic and mucopolysaccharides acid in the skin. If the skin loses its moisture, it can look dull and dry and is more prone to the formation of fine lines.

How to prevent dry skin:

Use a nourishing cleanser that rebuilds the skins protective barriers. The skin has two protective barriers – the acid mantle & skin microbiome. Both these barriers help protect the skin. Harsh cleansers can damage this protective barriers resulting in even greater water loss through the skin. This causes dryness. The Buttermilk Cleanser is wonderful to use as it helps rebuild the skins natural defence. Containing plant extracts that rebuilds the acid mantle and fermented ingredients that nourishes the skins microbiome. It also contains rose oil that helps reduce the effects of low estrogen.

Decreased Elasticity:

Estrogen is also vital for maintaining the firmness of your skin. Lower estrogen levels  result is lower collagen production. Collagen is a  protein that gives the skin its elasticity, plumpness and strength. Less collagen means the skin gets thin, sags and this results in the formation of wrinkles. You will not only get more wrinkles but existing lines and wrinkles may get deeper . Skin sagging also causes the cheeks to develop a hollow, sunken appearance. The Clinical Journal of Aging indicated that estrogen also protects the skin from photoaging.

How to improve skin elasticity:

Use products rich in amino acids that help collagen and elastin. Our Rejuvenating Face Cream & Rejuvenating Face Mask are rich in amino acids & vitamins that rebuild the skins collagen giving you rapid firming & plumping results.

Reduced Skin Healing:

Hormones, including estrogen, affect the skin’s ability to heal itself. Research shows that although aging slows skin wound healing, it is the decrease in estrogen levels that specifically leads to decreased skin healing.

How to improve skin healing:

Our Rasayana Rejuvenating Serum contains gotu kola.  Multiple research studies show that gotu kola speeds skin healing. This helps reduce the formation of deep lines & wrinkles as well.

Increased Susceptibility to Injury:

Not only does the skin not heal as quickly when estrogen levels decline, but it may bruise more easily too. There is also a possibility that estrogen provides some protection against damage from UV rays that may lead to skin cancer. Increased susceptibility to injury also leads to bruising, dark spots, age spots or hyper pigmentation.

How to reduce skin injury:

Our Rasayana Rejuvenating Serum contains gotu kola.  Multiple research studies show that gotu kola speeds skin healing. This helps reduce the formation of deep lines & wrinkles. The Rasayana Rejuvenating Serum is also a potent dark spot remover and helps lighten hyper pigmentation.
